The oft-unloved Fender Jazzmaster is turning 50 this year, and despite being sort of the bastard child of Fender's guitar lineup since 1958, they're throwing it a party. Fender hasn't actually tried to market these guitars to jazz musicians for decades, but they seem to have now embraced the whole underground prog rock/shoegaze/indie rock thing completely and are aiming this celebration squarely at people just like me. They know who's paying their bills these days.
